Lauri Sippola
Lauri Sippola is building Gosta Labs, where a healthcare-tailored AI assistant quietly records doctor–patient conversations and auto-generates specialty-fit clinical notes—so time moves from keyboards back to care. Think ambient documentation and data curation delivered as SaaS, integrated into existing workflows rather than bolted on. The vantage point is seasoned: after co-founding Kaiku Health (acquired by Elekta; cancer support in 30+ countries), Sippola’s bet is that product excellence only scales when the business model and integration burden make sense for real clinics.

Build with a marathon perspective – bringing new tools and integrating them into healthcare workflows and processes takes time.
Sippola’s north star is focus: free clinicians from documentation without adding clicks. Gosta’s assistant records visits in the background, then produces medical-specialty–tailored notes and curated data that fit existing systems—minimizing IT lift and change management. The barriers he flags are systemic: immature reimbursement for digital tools and the integration burden of legacy IT; the counter is pragmatic design, proof of value inside the workflow, and leadership that blends domain expertise, agile product craft, and operational excellence. Ethically, he argues for AI that augments judgment, with transparency, accountability, and representative data to avoid uneven performance across populations. On capital, he’s stage-driven: there’s “enough money in the world” if the team and plan match the phase—choose investors who add capability, not just cash.
